Horsehead Nebula by Gerry Aarts478 viewsA notoriously difficult object to view or image. The horsehead Nebula detail can best be extracted by using long exposure astrophotography and Photoshop processing techniques. Approximatly 1500 light-years distant and 3.5 light-years wide. Image taken at our obseving site at Linden Observatory in the Blue Mountains on 18th October 2007. Celestron GPS11 with Hyperstar f1.8 lens. Meade DSIc camera, 40 x 30 seconds exposures. gerry aarts
